Edward Brennan

#52ancestors

Edward Brennan  was a miner and would have worked on the Castlecomer Plateau Coalfields, which covered the common border areas of Kilkenny and Laois. He was married to Ellen Kehoe. Places Edward lived with his family were Clogh, Clonbrock and Doonane.

I have no details on when Edward was born, or when he died. When his daughter Bridget married in 1891, Edward was already deceased, according to the marriage certificate. Unfortunately, images of deaths registered after about 1878 for the area where he lived are not yet available on the Irish Genealogy.ie website. None of the Edward Brennan deaths in the earlier years match the details I have of Edward. And of course, Brennan is such a common name, particularly in this part of Ireland, that it presents many possible death records to sift through. At least his name wasn’t Patrick!
